Estefanía Ospina-Alikhan, LMFT

Estefanía (she/her) is an experienced therapist fluent in English and Spanish, with over 8 years of licensed practice. She works from an attachment and family systems perspective, conceptualizing her clinical work through an anti-oppressive lens. Estefanía supports individuals, couples, and adult families from diverse backgrounds, helping them build healthy relationships. She specializes in treating childhood trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, relational stress, life transitions, military life challenges, and immigrant experiences. Her focus also includes helping her clients improve their self-worth, successfully navigate consensually non-monogamous arrangements, and recover from attachment injuries such as affairs. As a military spouse who lived in Japan for approximately 4 years, she understands the complexities of military life and enjoys working with military couples and families.

The way she provides mental health care is deeply influenced by understanding the intersection of identities and how they are affected within systems of oppression. Estefanía acknowledges the inequalities in society and their impact on individuals and relationships. Her approach is collaborative, culturally sensitive, and draws from somatic, attachment, mindfulness, and trauma-informed practices tailored to each client's journey, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for everyone. She is committed to LGBTQIA+ affirming care, anti-racism, sex-positivity, and embraces the Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy. Prior training in levels 1 & 2 of the Gottman Method, provides added insight into her clinical conceptualizations as she actively pursues certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). With this evidenced-based EFT approach, she supports her clients in breaking negative patterns so they repair attachment injuries, cultivating closeness, and deepening connection.

In therapy, Estefanía brings her authentic self, curiosity, and humor to create a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic relationship. Her goal is to empower clients to recognize, accept, and safely communicate their needs and boundaries, ultimately enhancing the quality of their relationships and lives. Beyond the therapy room, she continues her growth through professional collaborations and training, affirming her dedication to providing inclusive therapy that honors and celebrates diverse human experiences. When not engaging in clinical work, she loves socializing and connecting with her spouse, friends, and family. She keeps active with exercise and Judo, enjoys outdoor activities, and spends time with her gentle giant German Shepard, Lilo.

Estefanía currently sees clients via telehealth using a HIPAA compliant video conferencing platform. She has availability Monday-Wednesday. Her session rates are $200/50 minutes and $300/75 minutes.
