Devon Cozens, LCSW

Devon (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with individuals, couples, and adult families who feel stuck in patterns they can't seem to break—repeating the same conflicts, feeling misunderstood by the people closest to them, or standing at a crossroads unsure of the path forward. Many of the couples she works with feel exhausted from trying so hard, disconnected even when they're together, or weighed down by hurt they don't know how to heal. She also works with individuals and parents struggling to make sense of big life changes, navigating the overwhelming demands of parenthood, or weighed down by emotions and dynamics they don't fully understand.

Devon uses Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples understand the emotional cycles that pull them apart and find new ways to reach for each other. For couples on the brink of separation or divorce, she offers Discernment Counseling to help partners gain clarity about the future of their relationship. She has experience supporting clients with relationship challenges, identity exploration, major life transitions, the lasting impact of family dynamics, and the emotional complexities of becoming a parent. She is especially passionate about supporting people as they navigate the transition to parenthood.

She brings warmth, curiosity, and playfulness to her work, creating a space where healing happens through authentic human connection. She helps clients recognize the patterns holding them back, deepen their understanding of themselves and their relationships, and find new ways to move through the places they feel stuck. Her approach is collaborative and relational, integrating anti-oppressive, psychodynamic, and attachment-based perspectives that explore how unconscious patterns and past experiences continue to shape the present—creating space to intentionally shape the future.

Devon is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a research-supported, attachment-based approach that helps people understand their emotions and relationship dynamics so they can feel more connected, secure, and responsive with the people they love. Her psychodynamic lens adds depth to this work, supporting both immediate relief and deeper, lasting change.

Devon is currently completing her PhD in Clinical Social Work at Smith College. Before and alongside her clinical work, she has taught in the MSW program at Metropolitan State University of Denver and is active in research and writing.

Outside of the therapy room, Devon loves being outdoors with her two young children, reading, cooking, playing cards, and seeing live music.
