Jia Jari, MFTC
Jia Jari (she/her) is a therapist who works with individuals and partners who feel exhausted by repeating the same painful cycles. Many of the people Jia works with feel caught between wanting connection and protecting themselves from getting hurt, or find themselves working so hard to prove their worth that rest and authenticity feel out of reach.
Jia helps clients slow down and understand what happens beneath moments of disconnection so they can respond to themselves and the people they love with greater awareness. Rather than viewing relational distress as incompatibility or identifying a "problem" person in the relationship, she recognizes that these patterns are not failures; they are meaningful survival strategies that have made sense in the context of each person’s life. Collaboratively, Jia and her clients explore how lived experiences, family histories, and nervous system responses shaped these strategies—and whether those strategies still support their present-day needs.
Jia is especially passionate about supporting couples and individuals navigating relationship challenges, intergenerational stress, and identity exploration. She has experience working with multicultural, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC clients across neurotypes and abilities. Using a holistic, intersectional, and affirming lens, Jia helps clients explore how their identities, cultures, relationships, and environments shape their internal worlds while supporting them in recognizing, embracing, and integrating the many parts of who they are.
She earned her Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy for The University of Colorado Denver, and her practice is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based, attachment-focused approach. Within this framework, Jia supports clients and couples in accessing and expressing the deeper emotions and attachment needs that can remain hidden beneath conflict, withdrawal, or self-protection.
Jia holds a deep conviction that clients are the experts of their own lives and possess meaningful inner wisdom that can support healing and growth. Through a collaborative approach, she walks alongside clients as they reconnect with and trust their inner knowing, exercise greater agency, and make choices that support lives and relationships that feel authentic, expansive, and truly their own.
Outside of the therapy room, Jia enjoys traveling, soaking up the sun, spending time with her loved ones, and trying to befriend every animal she meets.
