Meg Henderson, Intern Therapist

Meg (they/them) is an intern therapist who works with couples, families, and individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves or the people who matter most. Many of the people Meg works with want to better understand what is happening beneath their feelings and reactions, in order to express what they need more clearly, and move beyond painful cycles that have become difficult to change.

Meg understands that our relationships, identities, life experiences, and the larger systems around us shape the ways we learn to cope, relate, and move through the world. Even when people are deeply committed to change, these influences can make it challenging to create lasting shifts without support.

Meg helps clients feel seen and hopeful as they begin to understand and shift the patterns keeping them stuck. Together, they explore the ways people respond to stress, seek closeness, and protect themselves. Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, their work is grounded in an attachment-based, strengths-focused approach that explores the emotional and relational patterns that develop over time, creating opportunities for greater self-awareness, healing, and meaningful change.

Meg is especially passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ folks, those exploring their identities or relationships, people practicing consensual non-monogamy, those in other non-traditional relationship structures, and people healing from relational trauma. They strive to create an affirming, culturally responsive space where clients feel seen and respected in the context of their identities, cultures, relationships, and lived experiences.

Meg’s past experience at The Conflict Center has strengthened their understanding of conflict, communication, and the ways larger systems influence relationships and well-being. They are earning their Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver. They are trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based, attachment-focused approach that helps people identify interaction patterns that create distance and strengthen the emotional bonds that foster safety, trust, and connection.

Outside of the therapy room, Meg enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee, DJ’ing, and pickleball.
